Getting ready to celebrate your 25th wedding anniversary? This special anniversary is certainly cause for celebration, and with that in mind review the following checklist to ensure yours is a wild success:

Venue Rental

Rent a favorite venue capable of accommodating about 100 people. If you want to invite less people, go for it, but the important thing is to make certain you’re inviting all close family and friends. Outdoor anniversary parties are always fun if the weather permits, so consider finding a fabulous nearby garden or other lovely outdoor venue.

Invitations

Send formal invitations with reply cards requesting the honor of everyone’s presence as you reaffirm your vows and celebrate your love.

Buffet & Bar

Consider a buffet-style function, which saves money and allows guests to pick and choose what they want on their plates rather than deciding between “chicken or fish.” Have an open bar as well, as nothing is more annoying at a wedding or anniversary party than a cash bar. Treat your guests to an open bar that’s beer and wine only if you need to save money, and encourage them to bring their own liquor.

DJ/Band

Consider a band if you really, really want one, otherwise opt for a DJ. Heck, you can even make a playlist and have someone be on iPod duty. The point is to have good music at your anniversary celebration!

Cake Table

Recreate your wedding cake if desired, or opt for the wedding cake you really wanted but didn’t get at your wedding. There’s plenty of great options to choose from, and if you need help, there’s literally an app for that. (Actually, there’s many apps!)

Dress Code

Make it as formal as you like, including the wearing of tuxedos and gowns. Think about your venue in regards to formal attire–for example, if your anniversary party is on a beach you may want to go a bit more casual.

Display Table

Create a table featuring framed photos of you and your partner throughout the years…this is your anniversary, after all! Pick from favorite photos, including your wedding day and honeymoon pictures, those with your children if applicable, options from favorite vacations, and anything else you want to share.

These are just a few tips for planning a 25th wedding anniversary celebration…above all, the celebration should be all about your journey together as a couple. Customize it as you like and have a fabulous, wonderful, amazing time!
