Jenny’s stunning Oscar de la Renta gown was the perfect fit for this chic southern wedding. The form fitting style was so flattering, and the dress set the tone for an elegant evening. This New Orleans wedding had a fun and funky vibe, too. Don’t miss the awesome photos of one of my favorite post-ceremony wedding traditions…the “second line.” How fun!

The ceremony
We were fortunate to have an amazing spring day in New Orleans with perfect weather. The ceremony was in the Par Terre rose gardens in City Park and the roses had just begun to bloom. The ceremony concluded with a traditional New Orleans second line right to the cocktail hour and reception!
The reception
The reception was held in the Lathe House located in the botanical gardens at City Park. We wanted to keep the atmosphere intimate and casual and focus on dancing to the amazing band. Our flowers were greens, yellow and white – with the stunning botanical gardens as a backdrop, not much else was needed! We chowed down on traditional New Orleans and Southern style food and danced all night long to the jazz band!
Did you start your dress search with a particular style in mind? Did you end up buying that style of dress, or a different one?
I initially wanted to wear an amazing short dress, but never found one I fell in love with. I even flirted with the idea of designing my own. Finally, I went to an Oscar De La Renta trunk show bought my gown on the spot. The craftsmanship and tailoring is amazing.

Why Jenny decided to sell her wedding dress
I live in NYC and storage space is tight! But seriously, I was so lucky to be able to wear such an amazing gown and I hate the thought of it sitting in my closet. This dress was meant to be worn, and I would LOVE for another bride to be able to enjoy it as much I did!
