When the mother of the groom owns a vintage rental company, you know the wedding is going to be styled to perfection! Deborah and Michael got married in Ohio at their home church with the reception at a local Christmas tree farm, but they had their favorite vendors fly in from Florida to take part in their special day! The bride chose a lovely color palette of plum, cream and quartz that complemented the vintage details perfectly; she also had plum and quartz-colored blooms in her bouquet, as well as plum and amethyst bridesmaid dresses. It hailed during the reception, but after about an hour, the hail quickly subsided into a romantic fog through the bases of the Christmas trees in the distance. Alyssa Shrock Photography captured their magical celebration, while Oh Darling Events provided day-of planning and floral designs, and DaniLyn Vintage Rentals brought the vintage decor!
A Christmas tree farm wedding in Wadsworth, OH
I would have to say one of my favorite moments happened before our ‘first look’. My amazing bridesmaids surrounded me and all took turns lifting me and Michael up in prayer. It definitely became an emotional time. (Should have done that before we all had our makeup finished!)
Then our ‘first look’ was most definitely one of my favorite moments. It was a very private and intimate moment for us. We chose to have just the two of us present, and that memory is special to only us.
I was very excited to have my dream reception at Ricciardi’s Tree Farm, a beautiful property and barn. It was a special place for me, because it belongs to my childhood best friend’s family and I spent a lot of time there during my childhood.
With our reception in such a beautifully decorated barn created such an amazing atmosphere. It was complete with candlelight, vintage table settings, a cigar/whiskey lounge, a wine and chocolate she-lounge, and a beautiful coffee bar. A great “customized” way at capturing me and Michael’s personalities.
I knew from the first time that I heard the song “Forget Me Not” by the Civil Wars years ago, that I wanted it to be our first wedding dance song. We made it extra special by having my two sisters perform it live.
During the end of dinner, a thunderstorm, complete with hail, passed over briefly. The hailstorm crashing on the barn roof was an amazing moment, causing the guests to rush to watch in amazement. After the rain passed, a beautiful fog began to lift through the pine trees and created a magical and surreal sense of being surrounded by a cloud. It is a wonderful memory.
My wedding day was perfect. I could not have been happier with everything: from the flowers, to the food, to the family and friends who were there, and even to the hailstorm! – Deborah
