Emily and Pete’s gorgeous chic, urban wedding at the barrel room at The Pointe in Louisville had the look of an awesome loft space with hardwood floors, white brick and an industrial wall of windows. They added fantastic purple DIY details – notably the expansive ceremony backdrop constructed from purple pinwheels by Emily’s sister – to really make the space their own. They also added hanging drapes and chandeliers to add romance to the atmosphere. Stewart-Hunter Photography captured these awesome images of their wedding day!
A chic urban wedding with DIY details in Louisville, KY
Emily & Pete met during their orientation week for medical school at the University of Louisville. Falling into the same group of friends led to them spending more and more time together, which then led to a group beach trip during their spring break. After spending the week together with friends, they ended up sharing the eighteen-hour car ride back to Louisville together. Not long after coming back home, Pete was eager to ask Emily out on a date. This date led to more dates. Which led to the adoption of an adorable Chocolate Labrador Retriever named Lily, who would later have the honor of greeting Emily one afternoon with a brand new Lilly Pulitzer collar accompanied by a custom dog ID tag Pete had engraved with, “Marry Me?” – Susan, Stewart-Hunter Photography
