Staff writer Lauren was recently invited to visit the incomparable Boca Raton Resort & Beach Club, in South Florida. If you’re planning a destination wedding, it absolutely needs to be at the top of your list. And if you’re planning your honeymoon and want the best experience that sunny Florida can offer, then read on!
It sounds cliche, but it’s true: from the moment the doors on our car were opened for us, my husband and I were totally amazed by the Boca Raton Beach Club. Wandering out onto the pool deck for the first time, we knew we were in for the beach honeymoon that we never had.
Picture this: a pristine ocean view and private beach, three sparkling pools (one is adult-only) to lounge in or beside all day, luxury cabanas, and all the water sports activities a person could want. Or, if you like to relax at a slower speed, like we do, then order up some of the freshest guacamole at the pool-side bar (you can thank me later).
We all need a little pampering now and then, especially post-wedding. Many couples find themselves feeling run-down and pretty exhausted as their wedding comes to a close, so the best way to feel refreshed again is at a spa. And let me tell you, the 50,000 square foot Waldorf Astoria spa at the Boca Raton Resort is something you have to experience. Named the #1 spa in the world in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2014, discover a luxurious wellness escape in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable. With architecture modelled after the legendary Alhambra Palace in Spain, the setting is as inspiring as the treatments are rejuvenating. A true highlight is the Ritual Bath, along with the spa’s private pool.
And finally, all good days must come to an end. When the sun goes down, your relaxing honeymoon doesn’t need to end. The guest rooms and suites at the Boca Beach Club are pretty phenomenal. The resort completed $120 million in renovations at the Beach Club in 2009, and each room is appointed in an ultra-modern and stylish way. Personally, we’re all about the luxurious bathrooms, and with deep soaking tubs and separate rainfall showers, we couldn’t have been happier.
