Beauty and the Beast will always hold a spot near and dear to my heart, so when this lovely, romantic styled shoot from Barbara Covington Photography and Like the Dazzling Weddings landed in my inbox, I couldn’t wait to share it! From Hannah at Like the Dazzling Weddings:
When Natalie of Cake Envy came to me with the idea for this editorial piece, I was truly excited and inspired. Beauty and the Beast is an enchanting story reminding us that things are often deeper than they appear and that beauty is found within. What bride doesn’t want to feel like a modern day princess of their own love story? This collaboration is focused on telling that story by creating a romantic and elegant inspiration for the modern couple.
Just in time for the film release, a Beauty and the Beast wedding inspiration shoot in Atlanta, GA
The Greystone Estate, about 40 miles north of Atlanta, was designed to be an eclectic mix of new and old, making it the perfect setting for this shoot. Our team of vendors did a fantastic job of adapting this ‘tale as old as time’ through an abundance of pretty details and old world charm.
The palette, while rich in color, adds incredible depth to the romantic feel of the story. In the movie, you see yellows and reds a lot. Here, we substituted in gold, rich reds and deep blues while still achieving a light and whimsical look through the addition of lush arrangements, natural lighting and the photography style of Barbara Covington, who shot in both digital and film! Every detail tells a tale in this editorial, from the beautiful hand-painted macarons by Cake Envy to the intricate vintage china collected by Prissy Plate Company. Just as Belle saw beneath the Beast’s exterior and found a Prince, the heart and soul of this editorial lay within the many details!
I’m always encouraging my clients to tell a piece of their unique love story on their wedding day, and it was truly a wonderful experience working with such great vendors to bring you this modern take on the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast! – Hannah
One of the first cakes I ever did for my daughter was a Beauty and the Beast cake. It wasn’t grand or glorious, but I was really proud of it! The magic of Beauty and the Beast was inspiring, even then. Now that I’m a wedding cake designer, the theme has always been in the back of my mind, and I’ve wanted to re-visit it. When I saw they were making a live action Beauty and the Beast movie, I knew this was the time! I called on my wedding vendor friends to see if they would be interested in helping to bring my vision of B&TB to life, in an updated, modern way! The first person I contacted was our planner and stylist, Hannah Sabolik with Like The Dazzling Weddings. She loved the idea and was completely on board. After I told her my vision, I turned the reigns over to her and she ran (beautifully I might add) with the theme! From the perfect dress to the china settings, to French macarons and champagne from France… she styled it all! – Natalie, Cake Envy
