Heather and Paul had a beautiful DIY wedding this May in Jersey City. She put together all the bridesmaids bouquets and created all the centerpieces, place cards and church decor, while her maid of honor made their incredible cake! Nadya Furnari Photography captured these beautiful photos.
Paul and I met in (dare I say it) Bally’s Total Fitness. It was only when a group of his acquaintances and a group of my acquaintances went out to Hoboken did we first notice each other. Paul was difficult but persistent, and I totally fell for it!
Paul and I had our wedding ceremony at the church I grew up in, which also included Filipino traditional veil, cord and coin cermonies. We partied the night away lakeside at a country club Paul found. Paul was not your ordinary groom – he was sure to make many decisions towards our wedding day. Family and friends helped in every DIY detail from decorating the church, my mom making my veil, using Paul’s brother’s vintage book for center pieces, bouquets, to signs, and a full-out after party at Paul’s parents’ home the following day! The boys were able to change up their bowties to more fun ones after the ceremony and I managed to find a super fun 2nd dress at a local vintage shop!
Seeing our families and our favorite people celebrate our crazy love for each other and having their support a million percent – Paul and I could not ask for more! We are truly blessed! – Heather
