Diana and Andrew first met in middle school. They went to different high schools, and at the end of Diana’s freshman year of college, she took summer classes at the local community college, where Andrew was attending. She asked him to show her around and soon they became an official couple! Their Catholic ceremony was followed by a fun reception where Andrew’s cousin “made it rain” with cash after the money dance. Candice Benjamin Photography captured their beautiful day!
We ended up going on a spontaneous trip to Solvang and did some wine tastings. After a lot of wine and meeting a sweet crazy couple like us, Andrew decided to go to the “bathroom” and never came back. He ended up going back to our hotel room (Solvang is small so it was walking distance away). In retrospect, he said he was going to propose that night but was too intoxicated and was scared he was going to lose the ring, and that’s why he left back to the hotel room. I was so upset the next day I didn’t want to see or speak to him. On our way home he asked if I wanted to stop by the beach, and I said ok. Four wrong exits later, we finally found the beach in Santa Barbara. We found a log to sit on and Andrew started talking by apologizing and then getting on one knee. Completely shocked, my eyes filled with tears immediately and the rest was history! – Diana
