Pre-Wedding Beauty Checklist: How to Look Your Best the Day Of

wedding day beauty

A major part of your wedding day will be how you look and feel. That may seem superficial and shallow but we’re all well aware that a bride’s self-confidence should be at an all-time high when she walks down the aisle. For this reason, there are several things one must “check off the list” while planning the actual event.

The hair, the skin, the eyebrows, we’re sharing ways to look the absolute best on one of the best days of your life – and it’s all in the preparation. Below, we’ve created a pre-wedding beauty checklist that will get you there. Take a peek and take notes below!

1 Year Out

  • Take your makeup off before bed. Start this habit now and keep it in the routine.
  • Lay off the heat-styling products on your hair – your locks will thank you later.
  • Start wearing SPF every day. There’s foundation and BB cream that have it in their ingredients so you get a 2-for-1 deal with its purchase.
  • Start growing out your hair now if you want longer locks. Also, grow out your eyebrows as well if you want some thicker shapes.
  • Hit the gym now to make it become a part of your routine. Or the track – if you’d rather just start running off some extra pounds.

9 Months Out

  • Get your eyebrows professionally shaped – and see how you like them! Keep up this part of the routine if you’re fond of the finished product.
  • Make a dermatologist appointment. Get insight on your skin and how to make it the best ever.

6 Months Out

  • If you haven’t already, start drinking more water. It’s the best medicine for hydrated, radiant skin. Double down on this habit.
  • Book your stylist and artist. You can schedule your appointments for trial runs later but booking these powerhouses in advance is imperative.

3 Months Out

  • Add salt scrub to your exfoliation. This is especially important throughout the winter when our skin tends to get a little dryer. From your feet to your shoulders, the salt scrub will remove dead skin and leave your body feeling soft and polished.
  • Start getting manis and pedis regularly.
  • Get a facial. If this goes well, book another one closer to the big day. But if redness occurs, stay away until after the honeymoon.
  • Touch up your roots or fix your color.

1 Month Out

  • Get a trim. Don’t do anything close to the big day other than this. In case there’s a mishap, there’s time for it to be reconciled but also, a fresh trim can make everything look a little more crisp around the edges. *Do NOT try a new hairstyle so close before the wedding.
  • Schedule your makeup and hair test run. You don’t want to know what you’ll look like on the day of, instead know what you’re getting into beforehand. *Make sure to take photos and double check that you’re comfortable with every angle.
  • Stay away from the stress eating especially now. Cut out the extra sweets, alcohol, and greasy food. Your tummy and skin will thank you – and you’ll enjoy your honeymoon meals a little extra this way.

2 Weeks Out

  • Shop for all of your necessities. Don’t wait too long to buy every piece of the beauty puzzle that you need. This is a good time to make your list – from primer to bobby pins.
  • Double check those roots again and make sure your color is exactly where you want it to be.
  • This is also a good time to whiten your teeth.

1 Week Out – 2 Days Before

  • If you’re going to get a spray tan or apply self-tanner, this is the time to do it. But, make sure you are well-versed in this routine. If you’re a novice give yourself some time to get down the application process and don’t go with a spray you’ve never had before. No one wants to be striped and orange on their wedding day.
  • Pack your emergency and beauty kits.
  • Consider eyelash extensions.
  • This is also a great time to get your final brow waxing and Brazilian as well.
  • Go ahead and get your final mani and pedi too.
  • Get a massage.

Day Of The Wedding

  • Eat a good breakfast. Nothing too heavy and fatty, but something nourishing. Smoothies, oatmeal, or even some avocado toast will do the trick.
  • Wash your face and go along with your usual skin routine.
  • Enjoy being pampered.
