When a flower farmer gets married, you have to expect that a large focus on the wedding will be on the flowers. For Marguerite and Mason’s outdoor garden wedding, nothing could be truer!
Our favorite aspect of this real wedding is hands-down the incredible garden setting that was created on a croquet lawn for the ceremony. Who wouldn’t want to be married under an organic canopy of blooms and foliage? With an archway covered in greenery and florals, flanked by urns with naturally arrangements flowers, you’d think it would be complete. But still, floral designer Holly Carlisle of Rosegolden Flowers carried the garden-like setting down the aisle with rows of organic, wildflower inspired arrangements living the entire walkway. And somehow, overflowing with flowers, the setting still feels understated.

“Getting married in a field is something I’ve always dreamed of and getting married outside was a must. Mason and I both love the outdoors and I have had an appreciation for flowers since I was a little girl. Glitz and glam weren’t for me. I am naturally a more casual person. I wanted a wedding that was beautiful and understated yet unique.
Being a flower farmer, flowers were definitely a focus throughout our wedding. Marguerite means “daisy” in French and coming from a long line of Marguerites, my mom and I thought it would be fun to feature daisies. Garden roses were also a focus. Growing up my dad grew beautiful roses and they remind me of him and my childhood. Their smell and beauty are hard to beat.
I am a very sentimental person and like traditions, but I wanted Mason and me to create our own traditions. I like the tradition of getting married in a church, but felt it was too formal. I wanted a ceremony that was airy, organic and filled with joy. Holly created exactly that. The croquet court provided the structure a church would have given us and the garden aisle added a sense of freedom. Aside from the flowers, and many other thoughtful details, the band was definitely a highlight of the reception. My family loves to dance and having an energetic, talented band was a requirement. I took one lap at the reception to pause and take the night in and spent the rest of it dancing.”
