Organic and Intimate Destination Wedding in Italy

We’ll always love an organic aesthetic for weddings, and while that may change over the years as all styles and trends do, the gist of a natural, organic style is this: select your color palette, floral choices, and aesthetic details that fit well with the environment you’re married in! In this case, this intimate destination wedding in Italy features a delicate color palette that merges well with the soft greens and golds of the landscape, simple gowns for the bride and bridesmaid, and minimal accents at the ceremony setting to allow the view to really show through.

While we’re sure there are amazing photographers everywhere, we do love the idea of bringing a photographer you love along with you on your destination wedding. Why? Seeing a new landscape for the first time can be incredibly inspirational for any artist, particularly photographers. Some of our favorite images from this real wedding are the beautiful landscapes and details of the region. Brushfire Photography did a beautiful job of situating the couple within a new visual space.

“Jason and I have always dreamed of having an intimate destination wedding in a wine region. Italy was the perfect fit because the culture is so very close to our own – all about family, simplicity, and sharing. Val d’Orcia won our hearts easily when we looked at its stunning Tuscan landscape.

Being the event designer for my own wedding, a lot of details had to be worked out much earlier to ensure a stress-free celebration. I envisioned an organic and intimate setting, a great feast, as well as some personal touches to show the guests our love and appreciation. The intricate invitations were hand-crafted by life at studio b. Jason and I also personally made scented candles to go with the invitations – just to give our guests a gist of Tuscany! After our lovely experience learning the art of candle-making together, using a blended scent of lemon and Tuscan herbs, we named the scent “Gioia”… Joy, in Italian.

To better plan out the specifics, Jason and I had a site visit exactly a year prior to the wedding and fell in love with Terre Di Nano for our wedding venue. It’s remarkable view would be the ideal ceremony backdrop. Minimal decoration and an olive grove illuminated with hanging candles would style an intimate setting for the dinner party that we had been searching for.
On the wedding day before the ceremony, Brushfire Photography brought us to a beautiful wheat field nearby for a breathtaking first look. Our favorite moment of the day included making the wedding cake in front of our guests, and after the ceremony walking through a sea of sparklers with our guests before we danced the night away.

It felt very surreal to see a full year of preparation come together nicely… well, if I can be honest, quite perfectly in fact! Thank you so much to Brushfire Photography, La Rosa Canina, Terre Di Nano, Ricky, Lara and our bridal party in particular for providing us timeless memories on our wedding day!”
