A DIY songbird-themed wedding in Raleigh, NC
Last year, I featured Kristin and Matt’s adorable Shakori Hills engagement session. Today, I get to share their awesome wedding! Matt first saw Kristin when he was playing in his band at a local bar. She was in the audience, so he went up to her after their set was over. Because this was how they met, they knew that music had to be a big part of their wedding day, as well. They used the album cover from Radiohead’s OK Computer for the ceremony. Kristin molded record albums into flowers for decorations. The ring bearer even carried a drum down the aisle! Kristin also sewed hundreds of birds and used them as décor for the ceremony altar and for her bouquet. She designed and made all the jewelry for herself and for her bridesmaids. She dipped all the vases in paint to use all her favorite colors, and she designed and printed the programs herself. She even painted a photo of their hands holding for all the guests to sign. Talk about an ambitious and creative DIY bride! When the couple left the reception for the evening, they rode off in a rickshaw with sparklers to send them off! Rebecca Ames Photography captured their celebration.
