This modern take on Victorian style from Nick and Emily Photography “flipped the script” a little by bringing the reception table into the sanctuary of a chapel! The Klise Memorial Chapel, built in 1930, offers divine interior detail (including gorgeous stained glass) that harkens to medieval and Roman Catholic chapels. Using the chapel as inspiration, they created a Victorian table with florals in deep plum, pastel orange, coral and yellow, ornately detailed dishes and gold flatware, while bringing a modern twist in the form of geometric vases and modern gold placemats. The bride was dressed in a gorgeous lace and tulle gown, complemented by a beautiful diamond and pearl necklace and earrings, and a voluptuous bouquet that is to die for!

The invitation suite was a DIY project. Using liquid masking fluid, the entire text of the invitation was written onto thick watercolor paper. A purple, watercolor gradient was applied. Once dried, the liquid masking fluid was erased, leaving the text white. The paper was then sealed with matte clear finish, and craft liquid gold leaf was brushed on as an accent color (it is important to seal the paper before using liquid gold leaf, as it will bleed if you do not). Once dried the paper was flipped over and the edges were torn from the back to give the ruffed edge look. – Emily
