A modern Renaissance wedding styled shoot in Berthoud, CO

The Inspiration

A still life table perfectly set with amazing symbolism from Renaissance art gives bridal couples creative options for telling their love story! Renaissance art is rich not only in terms of beauty, aesthetics and symbolism, but also in terms of the colors and message that it carries, portraying an insightful visual language. The pomegranate means desire, fertility and marriage! Books impart translating knowledge and apples spread love and joy.

A sumptuous table set with pewter goblets along with crystal, modern galvanized steel chargers, scrolled leaf patterned antique dinner plates, sculptured wings as a center piece that could take flight along with candles glowing are symbolic of the transpiring of time. The skull would be eternity engaged (yes, I used a small skull)!

I wanted to create a sense of art appreciation to inspire bridal couples with their engagement shoots or weddings to encourage creativity.

The Flowers & Cake

Ria Erikson, Nature’s Grace Design, just filled the table setting with a perfect full bloom centerpiece! Gorgeous bridal bouquets along with boutonnieres depicted the styles represented in this shoot. Flowers were an understatement in this shoot.

The unknown Greek statue named Nike of Samothrace or Winged Victory is an impressive sculpture I wanted the cake designer to create as a cake along with two other cakes to depict my idea of modern, Renaissance, and grace concepts. Pushing the boundaries, I wanted Renee Hiser of Astonishing Cakes to design a cake literally of the statue Winged Victory. One cake having Lily of the Valley evoked grace. A watercolor technique spoke to modern. Rene Hiser accomplished this challenge as I knew she would! Astonishing Cakes, indeed!

The Attire

Once again working with designers: LOVA Weddings with the ‘Audrey Hepburn’ gown, a Blue Label Golden Era Collection for ‘Modern’ and Sareh Nouri with the gown ‘Morning Glory,’ a 2017 Spring Collection for ‘Grace.’ First time working with designer Romona Keveza utilizing a Spring 2017 gown that perfectly represents a blending of ‘Renaissance’ style and today’s fashion-conscious bride!

The Cabin Wedding Inspiration

Pantone’s color of 2017 ‘Greenery’ just happened to be one of my favorite colors! I could visualize this ‘Greenery’ at once by utilizing fashion accessories concerning the three male models. Accessories expressing the ‘Modern’ trends in grooms. Suits will reflect classic style with a modern fit.
