Nina and Nico hosted a modern yet glamorous wedding in Dubrovnik, infusing every bit of their day with just enough style to create the perfect ambiance. Starting with a dramatic, cascading olive leaf backdrop hung from the open stone archways in their ceremony and moving to the outdoor reception set on a cobblestone terrace overlooking the Adriatic Sea, we’re entranced by the simple color palette (white, black, and green), chic bridal party attire (can’t resist a groom in a tux!), and the celebration of the city’s dramatic scenery.

“Classic elegance with a minimalistic, chic vibe and a hint of old Hollywood glamour was the source of inspiration for our wedding in Dubrovnik. We really wanted the guests to enjoy the surrounding beauty of the Adriatic sea and the dreamy setting of the historical coastal city, so it was important that the overall theme didn’t overpower the environment.
For the ceremony that took place under the blue sky in the inner courtyard of the 16th century Sponza Palace, we really wanted to enhance the ancient stone and pronounced archways, so instead of fussy decorations, we opted for a simple yet dramatic backdrop that was created from olive branches and ivory and white garden roses. Apart from white chairs, the floral backdrop was the only piece that was added to the room which created a chic, sophisticated feel.
Afterwards, we hopped onto a classic wooden motor boat that transported us to the reception venue (our guests jokingly described as a ‘James Bond-style’ arrival) with Nico in a classic black tuxedo and myself dressed in a long sleeve, silk Houghton gown, and silver Aquazzura shoes.
