Marcus and Van Bring Their Love For The Great Outdoors In For A Wedding Colored With Dark Green, Soft Grays, and Earthy Tones

From Van, the bride:
“My husband and I are avid outdoors people. Many of our first road trips together were to national parks, on hiking and camping adventures. For our wedding, we chose to anchor the color scheme around a dark green, specifically utilizing the ample ivy and greenery that was already part of our venue. To complement the green, I chose light pastel shades of blue-grey, light pink florals, and pops of gold to create an overall summer earthy color palette.

At our reception, we chose table numbers that shared a piece of our history with guests. Each table was numbered and named after a city that each one of us had lived. Combined, we had 15 tables representing 15 cities that we have lived and worked in.

Additionally, although it broke from our “greenery” theme, all of the groomsmen pocket squares and socks, and the bridal and bridesmaid bouquet wraps were made in West Africa, using traditional Ghanaian patterns, to pay tribute to the years my husband lived and worked in Ghana. In a similar vein, my “something blue” was an oriental vintage embroidered purse that was given to me as a wedding present by my grandmother before she passed away.”
