When I first chatted with Evie she was very clear that she wanted her wedding to be a a reflection of her Greek heritage and, specifically, a reflection of the gardens in Greece. For her ceremony, we kept it simple with an olive leaf garland decorating either side of the church aisle.
At the reception, to create that “outdoor garden vibe” guests were greeted with a “potting bench” seating card display. I used wood plant markers and had Joelle Duff calligraph guest names onto them and tucked them into a stone container filled with moss. For the tables, I layered La Tavola’s cut lace linen over soft green linens. I arranged olive, bay, garden roses, lavender, annabelle hydrangea, and rosemary in an eclectic mix of stone and iron garden containers. For the fireplace/lounge area I brought in bougainvillea plants and decorated with simple olive branches that we painted gold and intermixed it with lots of candles.
