From Gabriella, the bride:
Our biggest concern about the wedding was that is be truthful to us. Although we didn’t need to have a wedding, we wanted to celebrate the wonderful relationship that we had nurtured for the last eight years as a family of two.

We could have had a wedding at home, but chose to travel away because we wanted a smaller guest list (weddings in Brazil tend to grow to a crazy proportion).  We also wanted a more unique environment for everyone who attended.  It turns out that destination weddings are not just about the wedding itself – they are about a whole weekend of celebration as you spend with your friends and family!

Our ceremony was tailor made to what we believed made sense to our story. We didn’t have any bridesmaids, and it wasn’t a religious ceremony. We made the moment about love and the few things that truly matter in life. I will admit that besides the ceremony, the fireworks were the most special moment of the night!

Fernando, my soon to be husband, took care of the whole music project – and a project it was. We had a very Italian rehearsal dinner with pizza, local wine and local live band. At the wedding we had six musicians playing and singing at the ceremony, a jazz band during cocktails and three different DJs at the party. On Sunday we threw a hang over brunch with a performance by the amazing classical guitarist Marc Teicholz.

As for the details,  my briefing for the décor company was to be the most organic as possible.  I brought my wedding planner,  make-up and hair designer, dress, video maker, and the welcome gifts with me from Brazil.
