Yes, we’re bringing back fondue.
One of my most beloved wedding memories of all time is from a wedding weekend I attended in Whistler, BC. And it wasn’t even the main day that I remember most — it was the rehearsal dinner. Rather than the typical rehearsal dinner fare of a meat, starch, salad etc., the groom’s family opted for a fondue party for all 120 guests, and it was truly unforgettable.
The first course was a typical cheese fondue paired with veggies and baguette, followed by meat and broth, and lastly, the crown jewel, chocolate fondue with decadent dippers.
The experience was memorable, collaborative and unique, providing the ideal opportunity for newly-acquainted guests to bond and share in the fun. If you’re looking to switch up food for your wedding itself or another related gathering (bridal shower, pre-wedding family dinner, etc.), fondue might just be for you.
Consider a fondue station if you’re having a larger wedding, or a full-out fondue menu if you’re hosting a more intimate gathering – either way, the result is scrumptious.
