Jessica chose the historic Virginia House in Richmond as the perfect location for her bridal portrait session by Alex C Tenser Photography, styled by Maggie Richard Design! The Virginia House dates back to the 1500s in England. The house was later demolished and the parts were brought to the States where it was replicated by a wealthy Richmond family at the turn of the 20th century. The backdrop of the estate is ethereal and elegant – the perfect place for a wedding. From Maggie:
The house and grounds are English Tudor style and are full of Victorian/Gothic architecture complete with stained glass windows, dark wood paneling, rich oil paintings, and an exquisite outdoor English garden. I drew my inspiration for the vignettes from the rich Victorian colors of plum and deep red and from the geometric shapes of the house. My goal was to create inspiration that was timeless with modern elements. You will see that inspiration popping up in everything from the food table to the unique shape of the bridal bouquet.
Alex is also Jessica’s first cousin, and Jessica’s mom did her hair and makeup for the shoot. It truly was a family affair. There were tears shed as Jessica stepped out in her dress for the first time looking ethereal, striking, and like a bride full of anticipation. The end result was a bridal portrait session that was both beautiful and full of emotion. A few weeks later, Jessica married her best friend and soul mate, Ronnie.
