One of the biggest trends we’re seeing in the bridal world is the sparkly, glitter wedding dress. Many designers have embraced the phenomenon and are creating show-stopping designs for the bride that desires to be seen.
From sequins to glitter beading to dazzling embroidery, there are so many ways to incorporate a little sparkle into your wedding-day look.
If you’re not wanting to be covered in head-to-toe glitter, there are subtle ways to add a hint of shine. Here are some of our favorite bridal gowns with that extra touch of magic.
D3565 – Essense of Australia
An off-the-shoulder wedding gown is so romantic, but when you add that touch of sparkle it truly allows the bride to shine.
This silk ball gown from Essense of Australia leads with a classic sweetheart neckline. The sheer bodice, covered with intricate beading and sequin lace, extends to the matching lace straps.
The romantic gown features a natural waist before gliding into a dramatically draped Mikado ball gown skirt. We love how full and voluminous the skirt is and the beaded lace detailing on the train is the perfect touch.
Another reason to love this regal-inspired gown even more—it’s curve-friendly and available in plus size. This style is definitely meant for a formal affair and checks all the boxes if you want to look and feel like a modern princess.
Marla – Madison James
This next gown is light and airy and we think the bride looks totally angelic.
The Marla wedding dress by designer Madison James has an ethereal look and feel, boasting a romantic A-line silhouette and dreamy tulle skirt.
The main event is all in the bodice—sparkly sequin-lace applique, featuring a vine motif, climbs up the high illusion neckline. The back of the sleeveless gown has delicate satin-covered buttons leading from the neckline down to the court train.
We love that this feminine gown comes in an ivory color for a touch of fun. This gown is ready to twirl and dance the night away!
4914 – Paloma Blanca
Who says you can’t be sophisticated and sparkly at the same time? This chic style from Paloma Blanca is a great way to add a dash of shimmer to a figure-hugging silhouette.
The fit-and-flare wedding dress, made from luxurious paloma satin, is an overall simple design with delicate spaghetti straps. The scoop neckline is classic and the low, open back adds a bit of sexy.
The hand-beaded belt gives that bride a sparkly touch while also drawing your eyes to the bride’s waist. Multiple shaped seams are designed to flatter the bride’s figure, making this a take-notice gown without a ton of embellishment.
Antonina – Allure Bridals
Straight from a fairytale is this beautiful ball gown from Allure Bridals. The Antonina wedding dress has amazing illusion detail on the cap sleeves and scoop neckline.
The bodice is adorned with stunning sequin-and-lace applique and mini 3D florals for an ultra-feminine addition. The illusion back includes small buttons down the bride’s spine and flows down to the dramatic tulle skirt and chapel train.
This gown would be perfect for a romantic outdoor ceremony in a garden or at a winery. To complete the look, a soft updo allows you to show off the dreamy illusion details and make your beautiful face the highlight.
Elvie – Maggie Sottero
Another fit-and-flare wedding dress made our list, this time from one of our favorite designers—Maggie Sottero. Sottero is known for her fitted, figure-flattering style and this dress definitely lives up to the hype.
The Elvie wedding dress boasts a detailed lace motif all over the bodice and dropped waist. Illusion fabric is used along the plunging v-neckline, straps and back with elaborate beading along the trim. A flirty tulle skirt completes the dramatic yet enchanting look.
Plus-size brides will love how this style accentuates their curves. For an extra smidge of sparkle, add the detachable beaded belt featuring Swarovski crystals. Yes, please!
SDWG1120 – DB Studio
This next wedding dress is made for the modern bride. This simple, sheath silhouette features unique accents that take this gown to the next level.
From the David’s Bridal DB Studio collection, this crepe style has tiny elegant beading along the high neckline and the small cutouts at the natural waist.
For a hint of sexy, the thigh-high slit in the skirt allows you to show off your cute wedding shoes.
We love this style for a chic civil ceremony or a bold reception dress. It also works year-round; just add a shawl or faux fur stole for those colder fall and winter months.
Charlotte – Justin Alexander
We had to include two regal-inspired wedding gowns on this list because they were just so beautiful.
The Charlotte gown, a great nod to Kate Middleton’s little princess, is a timeless style with vintage flair, just like many of Justin Alexander’s designs.
The ball gown boasts classic accents like a square neckline but the illusion bodice is a contemporary nod to the modern bride.
For a sparkle moment, lace and sequin detailing is sprinkled throughout the bodice and full organza skirt. A chapel train finishes the stunning gown fit for royalty.
23-04 – Berta
Berta is one of the designers that have really grabbed onto the glitter and shine trend, so it wasn’t hard to find something we adored.
This style is fresh off the designer’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection titled “Caesarea”. The designer said her goal for the collection was to make the little girl inside every bride feel like her wedding-day wishes had come true.
This particular wedding dress has so many luxurious and ultra-feminine details that we just might faint. It’s totally fierce, romantic and glam.
We love the posh halter neckline and the figure-hugging silhouette, but the intricate beading and floral-motif applique that adorns the gown is absolutely stunning. It definitely has more than just a “hint” of sparkle, but we couldn’t help ourselves.
