Looking for a fun little DIY wedding project to spruce up your reception venue? Well this cork installation might just be the thing for you. Kelli made this DIY wedding project for us simply using old wine corks, fishing wire, and a tree branch. This cork installation would look great over the bar at your reception, or on a larger scale for a more dramatic effect over your reception tables … maybe even as a ceremony backdrop! The possibilities are endless.
Kelli gives us directions below:
1. Start by punching holes into the top of each wine cork with a nail or something similar.
2. Measure the length you want the backdrop to be and cut several strings of fishing line and tie to the found piece of tree branch. It can be 40-100 or more depending on how big you want the installation to be.
3. Thread the fishing line through the cork holes and tie a small knot to keep each cork in place.
4. Keep doing that with the corks, while eyeing the balance to get a cascade/ombre effect.
