From BHLDN:
Our Spring ’15 shoot was inspired by the notion of a painted garden with lush blooms, trailing vines and hidden nooks waiting to be explored. There’s an element of sophistication and surprise to each gown, whether it be softly draped sleeves, satin covered buttons down a sheer back, delicate beading or a layered tulle skirt. Since our shoot fell in November, we faced the challenge of finding a location with abundant flora and warm sunshine that felt botanical rather than tropical, and more refined than rustic. The picturesque city of San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico with its Baroque and Neoclassical structures, artistic heritage and flourishing landscapes proved to be an idyllic setting. Splashes of vibrant color, rich textures and natural sunlight found in the gardens surrounding the private residence we rented played well with the gowns’ airy fabrics, fine laces, detailed embroideries and luminous embellishments.
