An autumn wedding in East Lothian, Scotland
Annie and David got married in September at a gorgeous private venue in Scotland called Castleton Farm! With ponies roaming in the fields and a medieval ruin providing an unforgettable backdrop, Crofts & Kowalczyk Photography found a secluded cove overlooking the North Sea for some incredible portraits of the couple.
Take one half Chinese doctor, one Scottish musical director and his beautiful 5-year-old daughter, a ruined castle on the edge of a Scottish cliff, a 100-foot wedding marquee, a vintage ’50s airstream van made into a bar, an old Chesterfield couch and hat stand, over 400 bride-collected jam jars of varying sizes, 200 of which were filled with 80 tea lights and the rest summer flowers, 150 meters of bunting, 8 festival flags, 8 vintage apple crates, 2 deck chairs, 12 bushes and 8 hydrangeas, 150 vintage keys attached to hand written named luggage labels, 9 reels of pink lace ribbon, 75 bottles of bubbles, 30 handmade postcard table settings, 150 wine glasses, champagne glasses and sets of cutlery, 15 round tables with pristine white table cloths and 150 table napkins – and then add an almighty mother of all storms that blows the entire thing down the night before the wedding. So finally add 200 anticipated guests, 40 of whom arrive 7 hours before the wedding and spend 6 hours on their hands and knees resurrecting the entire thing… To an incredible, humbling, beautiful degree that not even the bride and groom could have dreamed of… The finished product? A day that brought family and friends closer together, made new friendships and was a true demonstration of love, generosity and human spirit. – Annie
