The Cabanne House Wedding

How many couples can say they get to see their names in lights on the day of their wedding? For their September wedding in St. Louis, Missouri, Robin and Jim had four marquis in different theaters and stores in the downtown Loop congratulating them! Jim has worked at St. Louis’ world-famous record store, Vintage Vinyl, for 20 years, so it’s no surprise that music played a significant role in the wedding. In addition, you’ll see some very cool vintage elements, as shared by Under Grace Photo.

Robin and Jim’s outdoor ceremony and reception was at the historic Cabanne House in Forest Park, under a mammoth shady tree. The house has quite the history and is a gorgeous spot for a wedding ceremony. The Cabanne House dates back to 1876, though it was altered slightly in 1942 and suffered fire damage in 1966.

The ceremony site had cheerful maypoles throughout with streaming blue and green ribbons. My favorite part of the wedding, however, is the lovely vintage tandem Schwinn bicycle and the matching silhouette cake topper! Why a bicycle? Jim is an avid rider, so some thoughtful friends gave the newlyweds the tandem bike to enjoy as a couple.

After the ceremony, guests danced the night away under the stars, and two large tents flanked the dance floor so they could relax and enjoy a local microbrew along with those scrumptious-looking desserts from Hollyberry Baking Company.
