At Team Wedding, we’ve already shown second time brides how to look for sexy wedding dresses and how to find preowned wedding dresses, but we may have outdone ourselves this time because we come baring awesome news. Fashion retailer H&M announced they are going to sell a wedding dress for $99. That’s right, you can read that again. If you want to spend too much money on your second marriage wedding dress, you may be in luck.
This is the first time H&M has sold a bridal gown since their limited edition Viktor & Rolf for H&M collection in 2006 featured an elaborate bride’s dress for under $500. The new dress features delicate draping, a cinched waist and a strapless “illusion bodice” featuring embellishments at the neckline to draw the eye up to the bride. It’s a gorgeous dress for an off-the rack creation priced at under $100. We love this dress for a vow renewal or second wedding ceremony.
The dress is a fraction of the cost of designer gowns by well known designers like Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier and others. We suspect that if reception is great this will be just the start for H&M. We also expect competitors who already sell wedding gowns like Nordstrom, J.Crew and David’s Bridal to also come up with their own collections for brides on a budget. Stay tuned to see how many of the white wedding gowns we will see for sale under $200 in coming months. .
And it isn’t just the wedding dress either, because H&M also released perfect bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner or reception dresses for less than $50. H&M is doing brides across the world a huge favor by offering such an affordable H&M wedding dress.
