When it comes to fashion our main focus is always on the classics. We love that New York Fashion Week gives us an edge to best wear those timeless pieces with a current edge.
With this year’s Spring/Summer 2016 New York Fashion Week underway, we’re excited to see creations from some of our favorite designers such as Nicole Miller, Monique Lhuillier, Jenny Packham, Lela Rose, Reem Acra, Badgley Mischka, Naeem Khan, and J.Crew.
The fashion we’re seeing on the runway this week has provided plenty of inspiration for Spring and Summer weddings for the new year.
This coming spring will be all about bright colors and bold prints with a modernized ‘90s vibe. We’re seeing a resurgence of layered dresses, mismatched separates, metallics, hair accessories, light flowy fabrics in girly prints, fringe, and the grit of graffiti patterns and paint splatters.
Of course, florals will play a big role for Spring and Summer. Paired with a more masculine touch, such as army green, painted in a large-scale print or juxtaposed against another complimentary print, florals are anything but cliche. For more oomph, just add a dash of metallics, a splash of sequins, or an air of exotic desert style.
If you’re a bride with an upcoming fete in your honor, incorporate these themes from a look that feels straight off the catwalks. Light flowy fabrics in feminine prints would be perfect for a bridal brunch with family. Mismatched separates, a pastel paint splatter print, a touch of fringe, a tasteful crop top skirt set, or dress with playful cutouts are appropriately bold for a pre-wedding girls night out. Metallics, full-length florals with an unexpected twist, and, of course, white are rehearsal dinner gold.
