This tart mimosa recipe comes from an afternoon spent with my mother. She has always been a blood orange fan, talking to all the farmer’s markets to see who has them; in season and sometimes out of season. If normal sweet mimosas can be too much for you, this is a tart alternative. We have also used a grapefruit and orange juice mix if blood oranges are not available.
Blood Orange & Honey Mimosa
Makes 6 glasses
Ingredients:
-3-5 blood oranges
-Honey
-Sage
-Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut
Instructions:
1. Cut the blood oranges in half, remove seeds, press on juicer.
2. Add ice and desired amount of juice to glass.
3. Mix in Freixenet and a teaspoon of honey, add sage to garnish. Enjoy.
