Our Favorite Celebrity Wedding Dresses of 2011

As the year draws to an end, I couldn’t help but take a look back at my favorite celebrity wedding dresses of the year. This year’s celebrity wedding list also includes the wedding of the century, and not surprisingly, Kate Middleton’s beyond gorgeous dress is the very first on my favorite list.

Kate gracefully navigated the tremendous pressures of selecting the perfect gown while under the world’s microscope.  She chose a dress that both suited her own personal style and personality and was completely appropriate for her grand Royal Wedding.  Not only was her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress elegant and beautiful, but this iconic dress reintroduced and romanticized lace and sleeves.

Following Kate Middleton’s wedding, US designers and other celebrity brides continued to embraced the trend away from strapless. Each of the following celebrity wedding gowns was not only beautiful, but truly reflected the bride’s own unique style. (Just what a wedding dress should do.)

Amy Smart wearing Carolina Herrera Columbine, Molly Sims wearing Marchesa

Classic and understated gowns will always be a favorite of mine. Simplicity speaks volumes and truly showcases a bride’s radiance. I love Reese Witherspoon’s gown for its modern blush pink hue, and Lily Aldridge’s Vera Wang is so beautiful and timeless that her wedding photos will never be dated.

Looking back at the year’s glamorous celebrity wedding gowns, there are six gowns that make my favorites list. The ruffles, tiers and textures found in the skirts is so on-trend.  And of course we love that Kim Zolciak has embraced the trend towards buying preowned!
