Kwany and James had a spectacular winter wedding just after the New Year at Sundance Resort in Park City! They had a traditional Chinese tea ceremony with relatives and then a magnificent reception with slightly rustic details. The floral arrangements and bouquets included ivory and soft pink roses, white peonies, dusty miller and mini pine cones, accented by burlap and twine. For wedding favors, the bride and groom offered Chinese tea in paper qipaos (one-piece Chinese dresses). The bride wrote each and every guest a personalized note as their seating card by hand, and prior to the ceremony, guests participated in Chinese door games. The door games are a tradition from ancient times in Chinese culture; back then, they implied that the bride’s family didn’t want to marry her away, so the groom had to pass a series of trials and tasks as a way to demonstrate that he really loved her. James did everything from dressing up in a tutu to eating the “flavors of marriage” (spicy, sweet, sour and bitter). Pepper Nix Photography captured their incredible celebration!
