From the bride:
From the beginning, we knew we wanted our wedding day to be a reflection of us, and not necessarily a traditional or formal event. We imagined a day that was a delicate balance between intimate and spectacular, wild and familiar, understated and magical. When we discovered our location in Big Sur we knew right away that this was where we wanted to get married, and where we wanted to share this day with our friends and family. For us, Big Sur felt warm and inviting – like an evening on my aunt’s deck with good wine and a home-cooked meal.At the same time it felt as mysterious and breathtaking as an adventure in a remote unruly landscape.
While planning the day, we tried to focus most on how we wanted the day feel. As we pulled together the design elements of the day, we looked to the landscape and to our home life for inspiration. We utilized a natural palette that highlighted the landscape, as well as the fresh simplicity of modern lines. The ceremony setting was minimal and striking, with just us, our guests, and the landscape. The floral arrangements were organic and lush, with soft muted colors and vibrant greens, balanced with with minimal ikebana – inspired arrangements. The reception was relaxed and inviting, with crafted place settings, soft linens, hand-written stationary, with a farm to table menu & seasonally inspired cocktails crafted with local ingredients. The day was filled with love and friendship, stolen moments together, and dancing under the stars. Everything was so effortlessly joyous and authentic to us as a couple. We couldn’t have dreamed of anything more perfect.
