Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the most special and romantic days of your life. However, so many brides that we speak to have told us just how stressful the months in the lead up to the day can get with either arguments and disagreements or simply because you are not spending enough quality time together. If you worry that you are headed down this path, it is so important to stop and correct it! We share five fun ideas for getting some quality time in with your partner before your wedding day. The lead up to the day should also be a time to create some amazing memoires together.
- Workout together
Couples that workout together, stay together right? That is what we believe anyway! We think that exercising with your partner is a great way to de-stress, switch off from wedding talk and work towards your body goals together. As you will both be working to the same timeline, couples tend to really motivate one another during their workouts. Your personal trainer will also ensure you remain engaged and focused.
Top tip: Why not get cracking with a wedding task after your workout? With the endorphins flowing, we are pretty certain you will be a lot more productive.
- Take up some dance practice
Every couple is slightly nervous about the first dance, and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. You may as well have fun with it and sign up to a dance class. This is a great activity, as you can’t do it alone, and it has to be done together. Whether you do this as a one-off class or more long term, it will help to boost your confidence on the dance floor.
Top tip: Why not shock your guests and adopt a new style of dancing that they wouldn’t expect – ballroom or swing?
- Take a mini break
There is no reason why you have to wait until your honeymoon to get away. In fact, most couples are most in need of a holiday before the big day, to reconnect with their partner, take some time out and get a holiday glow! Your break doesn’t have to be long or even far away. Take a trip to the countryside, and make a rule that wedding talk can only take place at certain times.
Top tip: Don’t tell your partner that you are planning this and surprise them – this will make the trip even more special.
- Cooking lessons
It is natural to assume that one of you is going to have stronger cooking skills in the relationship. However, unless you want to be delegated kitchen duties for the rest of your life, we suggest you get cooking together before the big day. Inject fun into it and take up some cooking lessons.
Top tip: Cooking at home will save you money and unnecessary weight gain before your wedding day.
- A weekly date night
In all the flurry of wedding planning, most couples completely forget the romantic reasons WHY they are getting married in the first place. The proposal, and the initial butterflies at the start of the relationship will be a distant memory. To avoid going down the route of bickering and only discussing the wedding you need to schedule a weekly date night.
Top tip: Take it in turns to plan your date night so each week is something different and new.
