Happy Halloween, lovelies! In the spirit of the holiday, today’s styled shoot from Mandy Fierens has a gothic vibe with a beautiful, glam Renaissance twist! From designer Quelcy Kogel: “The shoot was a celebration of a late fall anniversary – that time of year when the fiery palette of autumn falls from the trees and reveals a starker, soon to be frozen landscape. There is immense beauty in the starkness of that fall-winter cusp. This is the time of year to celebrate the harvested, fallow fields and embrace heartier foods. It’s a season that calls for the comforts of velvets and fur, a time to gather and feast by the golden glow of flickering candles because the darkness descends all too early. This is the time of year for preserving, drying and migration, all the themes channeled in the floral arrangements. Our couple felt like Renaissance royalty, sipping on wine from dark goblets, indulging in decadent desserts, and nibbling the sweet forest fruits plucked from an oil still life and carried by basket to the anniversary table. From their imaginary castle, they could sit one last time in the crisp air and watch the transformation of trees, marking their time together better than any calendar.”
