From Danielle Harris Photography: “Set against the beauty of the garden backdrop of Laurel Hall, this floral-filled Indianapolis wedding combines neutral hues and alfresco dining for the ultimate romantic wedding celebration. Brittany and Jordan, along with their families, planned this show-stopping wedding from 1000 miles away and the event couldn’t have been more flawless. Every little detail was intentional and honored their relationship in the most beautiful way. From the antique ski lift brought in from Colorado to the table numbers representing some of their favorite places, this wedding truly reflected their taste and style of the couple.”
An elegant al fresco garden wedding in Indianapolis, IN
The Proposal
Jordan and Brittany planned to snowmobile one April weekend in Vail, CO. Little did Brittany know, during this trip Jordan had a ring in his pocket that he pulled out at the very top of Machine Gun Ridge. It was a clear – or blue bird – day, as they say in Colorado. As if that surprise wasn’t enough, Jordan had their family and friends awaiting them with champagne in hand at the base of the mountain!
About the Wedding
Our wedding took place at an old estate, which is a hidden gem in Indianapolis! It was most important to us to bring our life in Colorado to the wedding day and all of our loved ones. We used the mountains as inspiration for our flowers and decor – incorporating a wildflower look, birch wood, and even a chair lift as our photo booth. From there, we kept everything fresh and elegant to align with the venue – using a lot of white, black, and rose gold to match the engagement ring elsewhere. We also heavily incorporated our dog, Mogli, into the day including a signature cocktail named for her.

Favorite Moments
The ceremony was a huge highlight for us, having both of our uncles marry us in such a personal, meaningful way. Dinner was magical as the sun set and the bistro lights set the scene for all of our speeches. Finally, my family owns a Burger King franchise and our late-night food was a highlight. The King came out along with servers carrying silver platters full of chicken fries!
The Flowers
Flowers became a big part of the day for us! Our inspiration came from Rocky Mountain wildflowers. We mixed lots of greenery, white flowers to keep everything fresh, and flowers similar to wildflowers in pastel tones. All bouquets were white with greenery. All fireplaces in the venue were draped with greenery and pops of our pastel flowers. Tables were mostly decorated with greenery, with the exception of the head table. The head table included a big floral garland that was our pop of color. Finally, our big splurge came in floral wreaths hung in the dancing room that concealed some unsightly chandeliers!
Special Details & Heirlooms
My Uncle painted a cool portrait of our dog, Mogli. This painting was displayed at the reception and was the inspiration behind/incorporated into all the wedding stationery.
We also brought an antique chairlift from Colorado to the wedding, and this served as our photo booth. We are big skiers, so this was a cool element for us to bring to our guests!
In my bridal bouquet, I carried the wedding bands of my grandmother and grandfather who had passed away. Also, during our ceremony, a white rose was carried down the aisle for all of our grandparents no longer with us.
