If you are a bride-to-be planning your perfect wedding and Vera Wang is a family friend, you definitely have some wedding karma. Such was the case for Kim Kardashian. And true to Kim’s over the top style, she asked Vera to create not one, but three special gowns for her big day.
And as Kim reported to People magazine, she did not know which gown she’d wear for the ceremony until two days before the big day. (Although I have to say, the choice seemed obvious to us). The princess dress she chose was described as “Cinderella” by Vera Wang, and featured a basque waist with a full tulle skirt and chantilly lace on the train and bodice.
For her first dance, Kim switched into her “favorite” of the three gowns. This gown was sexier Georgette mermaid dress with hand cut organza petals and chantilly lace on the skirt. But when she and Kris hit the dance floor for their Mark Ballas choreographed first dance, Kris said he “knew [he] could not pull off any of the moves that we practiced” once he saw her gown.
For the party, Kim changed into her third dress of the night,a bias-cut (which means the shape clings more to your curves than a regularly cut gown) crepe-back satin dress that featured a v-neck and a circle skirt. She accessorized this gown with a diamond bracelet designed with a love knot and two “K”s (a wedding gift from Humphries).
And just how much fan interest was there in Kim’s wedding details. Well, some New York newsstands reported selling out of their Kim Kardashian wedding issue….and People.com reports over 800,000 page views in less than four days (which was 50% more than Reese Witherspoon’s wedding coverage). Wow.
Which of Kim’s three looks was your favorite?
