This whimsical, bohemian St. Patrick’s Day inspiration shoot from Andie Freeman Photography is perfect for anyone who wants to celebrate their Celtic heritage, tie the knot on St. Patrick’s Day or simply feature a green and gold color palette! Each detail was carefully planned, including those that have significance in Irish tradition, such as the bell, the horseshoes and the cloverleaf-topped cakes! The bell is a traditional wedding gift for Irish couples, and its chime is said to keep evil spirits away. The hanging Clydesdale horseshoe chair markers have the opening facing upwards to keep the luck from “falling out”! In addition to the fabulous display of cakes, they also served up a signature cocktail and classic Irish spirits. Lita the Clydesdale joined the models wearing a pretty garland of greenery with a smattering of flowers!
Signature Drink Recipe
- 1 ounce Midori Melon Liqueur
- 1/2 ounce green Creme de Menthe
- 1/2 ounce Creme de Cacao
- 2 ounces half and half
Whimsical St. Patrick’s Day inspiration shoot in Bishop, GA
For our color palette we used hunter green, emerald green, gold and white. Our table was a farmhouse table from Barron’s Rentals. These farmhouse tables are unique in that the top is removable so you can use a linen underneath for a more formal look than just a straight farmhouse table. On the table, we set a setting for 6. We had gold chargers topped with beautiful china from Vintage English Teacup in green and gold. On top of the china, we placed gold glitter favor boxes and golden key bottle openers from Kate Aspen. Our flatware was also gold to stay with our palette. Our escort cards were gold and white baroque frames from Kate Aspen with custom name cards inside designed and printed by T.evenire Stationery Boutique. We used crystal glassware along with beautiful vintage green glasses. Of course, we had to include the Irish staple, Guinness, for each place setting.
For décor on our main table, our centerpiece was a beautiful arrangement of greenery, which included ivy, white hydrangeas, mini roses, and lilies that matched our bride’s bouquet and halo, set into a vase that is the feet of a leprechaun. Branching out from the centerpiece were four clear candlesticks with gold candles and golden pots holding cloverleaf arrangements. To finish off the table, we sprinkled cloverleaf confetti.
Our bride wore a stunning Sherri Hill gown from High Maintenance Formalwear in green and gold. It is a perfect dress for the bohemian bride that wants a gown in a color. Our groom wore a black tuxedo with a green vest and tie from Perno’s Formal Wear. His boutonniere consisted of two glittery cloverleafs with a small white flower. Our flower girl wore a white couture tutu dress with green ribbons and had a matching halo to the bride’s. Her flower girl basket had glittering cloverleafs, top hats, and gold coins to scatter down the aisle. – Andie
