Monochromatic hues have never looked so beautiful! This modern and dreamy loft wedding styled shoot was designed by Aisle Society and photographed by Cassi Claire to showcase all things blue from the Fall 2017 collections by David’s Bridal – bridesmaid dresses, bridal accessories, invitations, and of course, a stunning wedding gown!
A monochromatic dreamy ice blue wedding inspiration shoot in Hudson, NY
The entire shoot has a lovely, airy and metropolitan feel thanks to the fresh blue hues and the open floor plan loft space. The inspiration started with a stunning lace wedding dress by Melissa Sweet for David’s Bridal, which features delicate blue blooms cascading down the bodice. From there, they chose regal sapphire jewelry, bridesmaid dresses in varying shades of blue lace, as well as unique wildflower bouquets that complemented the gown to perfection! Not to mention amazing accessories like the two-tier cathedral-length veil fascinated just above the brow line by a jeweled headband.
In keeping with the open, airy feel of the loft, ghost chairs were the perfect accent for the glass top reception table. Hoping to inspire the next generation of floral runner, an elongated flower box was created running the full length of the table. Pattern also plays a very big role in the aesthetic of the tablescape, encouraging yet again a sense of movement. Each place setting features four tiers, switching off between color and design, creating a harmonized feel when viewed as a whole. The showpieces, however, were the hand dyed shibori napkins that accented each setting, flowing right off the tabletop.
The statement ceremony installation is one of my favorite elements because it really highlights the venue in a unique way! Inspired by harlequin style tile, a massive backdrop was crafted featuring a diamond grid pattern with brushed metal overlay in a few key places. The result was a dazzling effect that allowed light to dance around the room all while being wonderfully calm and pleasing to the eye. Ghost chairs were chosen to line the ceremony for their see through yet reflective properties, working to perpetuate the movement of light around the room in another form.
The cake display took on the feel of an art installation, as well! Playing on whimsy and movement, a tassel waterfall was created that swayed from the ceiling, perfectly framing the minimalist wedding cake. Echoing the symmetry of the three tier square cake and tassels, they displayed it on a short white pedestal placed atop a framed metal table.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve fallen in love with “something blue” and the idea of a monochromatic wedding palette thanks to this creative inspiration!
