“SISTER, SISTER is our premier collaboration as OTHER Studio (now Trisha Robinson Photography) – a practice-based photography studio rooted in a shared visual language. This project, wherein medium format stills and Super8 motion were employed, marks the start of our ongoing dialogue around gesture as a communicative visual force. In this shoot, the light, water, and texture give a sense of endless space and provides a context evocative of the sisters’ personal bond. The understated concrete dock allowed us to capture the sisters as if suspended within this context. Linens and muted tones came into harmony with the palette of the sky and water; it was an effortless day spent creating with an amazing team. We are so grateful to the sisters, Garlan and Madison, whose beauty and quiet expressiveness is so eloquent here. We are also indebted to StilWorks for providing the earrings, which are themselves like pieces of art.”
