We always love to see couples celebrate their engagements with beautiful portraits that show their natural personalities. Rebeca and Josh’s photos from Lauren Balingit and Kelly Lenard is no exception. Read on for more from the couple! Looking for more simple photo sessions? Here is one of our favorite maternity sessions, and a beautiful beach engagement session here.
From the bride-to-be, Rebeca:
“Josh and I met one summer, when I had just come back from traveling to Honduras where I was volunteering for a non-profit organization called Final Frontiers. One of my friends invited me to join her as a camp counsellor at a teen camp for a week. At first I was reluctant about not going because of feeling jet lagged, but for some reason I changed my mind. Josh was also a camp counsellor, and this is where Josh and I caught each other’s eye. We found each other by doing the thing we love the most: loving and working with people. Although we only said a few words to each other that week, there was an immediate connection. A few weeks later he asked me out for a date, and we’ve been dating ever since.
As soon as Josh and I got engaged, I was really excited to choose a photographer. I worked with Lauren earlier that year on a stylized shoot, and her genuine sweet spirit stuck with me when deciding on who I wanted to be my photographer. Because both Lauren and Kelly have such a warm personalities, Josh and I felt so comfortable and at ease throughout the engagement session. We had so much fun climbing up the sand dunes as it brought up so many memories as a young girl going to the dunes with my family and friends. It was so neat to be able to share those memories with Josh and create new ones together.
As our wedding day approaches, we are so excited and looking forward to having Lauren and Kelly be a part of our special day.”
From the photographer, Lauren Balingit:
“Rebeca & Josh are such a fun couple and one of the things I love most about them is that they are genuinely crazy about each other! We wanted to bring that out in their images, so we took a more lighthearted and fun approach to their engagement session with minimal styling while using a lot of the natural details surrounding them to help bring the story together.”
