Before we were even engaged, my husband and I had our hearts set on Montecito as the magical backdrop for our wedding. We’ve always been fond of the area. Our dating years were marked by weekend and mid-week escapades (work permitting) spent exploring its quaint towns and losing ourselves in its timeless natural beauty. As we grew to know the region more and more, San Ysidro Ranch quickly became, in our minds, the most blessed and idyllic spot of all. And we knew it was the perfect place to gather our most cherished friends and family to witness what would be the most important day of our lives.
Once we had booked the venue, we knew there were a million details to be handled in only a few short months. While I am a highly creative, detail oriented, type-A person, I had known for a while that a wedding coordinator would be a part of the planning process. I had read too many wedding blogs over the years not to understand that when it comes to planning a truly bespoke wedding, 2 + 2 = 5. After we interviewed a number of planners, it quickly became apparent that Paige and Kelly at Bash, Please were the perfect partners to bring our vision for our wedding to life and enhance it exponentially.
The planning process was a lot of fun, albeit fast-paced and overwhelming at times. Lots of decisions needed to be made, but Paige and Kelly were pros at guiding us through the process. They streamlined it all, making solid vendor recommendations and handling all the nitty gritty details. We were so pleased when the big weekend arrived to learn that all of those recommendations paid off! Talmadge, our mixologist, kept everyone loose with his aromatic and delightful drinks. It was a great complement to the lush gardens and landscape of the ranch. Our photographer Tec, who possessed a laid back style and positive attitude, captured the weekend with an air of style and ease. And the florals, possibly my favorite part, were effortless and stunning. They looked amazing in person and made the photos pop like nothing I’ve ever seen. Our florist, Sarah Winward, carried out the exact vision we had all discussed and brought her own touch to it that really shown through.
A huge part of the weekend’s success was the striking level of creativity that Bash brought to their event design and overall execution. It really was nothing short of amazing. From our fiesta-themed rehearsal dinner, to the magical reception, and our touching ceremony (which didn’t permit a dry eye in the house), we, along with our guests, were astounded by how perfectly everything came together. The entire weekend was just as we wanted it: festive, unique, rustic, elegant, and spiritually-rooted. We couldn’t be more pleased and grateful!
