It’s all in the asking. And asking your besties to stand with is a great time to show them how special they are to you. It’s a way to thank them for being there in the lead up to the event (something which, let’s be honest, is not always an easy task), and of course, on the big day itself.
Face-to-face is an amazing way to make the ask. Pop the question in a surprise way over a group dinner, pair it with a Champagne brunch or even during a girl’s weekend trip, if you can swing it. Make the asking itself the highlight and memory, and the rest will all fall into place.
Here are six adorable ways to ask your bridesmaids to be in your bridal party.
Box It Up
An incredible way to take your maids down memory lane with you, and let them in on the future memories you will build together. Things to include might be old photobooth photos of you or notes you have written one another. Add some fun with dress photos or hints at your theme or color palette. Photo: Bethany at Rinse Repeat
Spoil Them
Another take on the box is a luxury gift full of little indulgences like a quality candle, designer lipstick, bath soak or other special treats. The key is the color co-ordination that makes it all look so pretty, and the card of course! We love this version with bold black and white and Tiffany blue accent from Sam at The Frosted Petticoat. Gorgeous. Photo: The Frosted Petticoat
A Just-For-Her Keepsake
Combining a gorgeous bespoke calligraphy ask with pretty packaging and monogrammed Kate Spade memento was the winning combination for Vickie at Adventures in Fashion. Fresh, modern and yet something that will remind her for years of that special moment in your friendship. Photo: Adventures in Fashion / Calligraphy: Justine Ma
A Secret Reveal
Wrap it up in a cute, rustic roll that reveals the question ask she unwinds it. It’s simple, but oh-so-cute. Photo: Choosing You
Edible Ask
Sugar cookies were the sweetest way to ask for this bride, who had Jaclyn’s Cookies create custom nibbles for her big ask. The icing color and daisies even incorporated the wedding palette and theme. Some other shape ideas could include flowers, hearts, dresses, rings or shoes. Photo: Jaclyn’s Cookies
Miniaturize the Big Question!
These mini pinatas are to die for. Festive, fun and super cute. How can she NOT say yes? Photo: Emily Vaca at Sugar & Gold, Inc.
Wrap It Up
Create some custom bottle labels for each lady and then wrap up a bottle of their favorite libation to pop the question for you. It’ll have those ladies celebrating before the party begins! There are many options available, but we love these chic ones from Label With Love. Photo: Label With Love
BONUS: Don’t forget about the flowergirls…
This thoughtful bride included her four flower girls in the asking by gifting them books and cards, complete with cute sketches and the names of of each girl. Ador.a.BLE! Photos: Melanie Duerkopp. See more of this real wedding featured on PreOwnedWeddingDresses!
