Australian-based designer Steven Khalil is a couture bridal sensation. His one-of-a-kind wedding gowns, along with his red carpet fashions, are known for eye-catching accents and contemporary aesthetics for both the traditional and modern bride.
Bold colors blended with classic European elements make these gowns a standout option for your wedding day. Take a look at ten breathtaking designs from two of his latest collections.
Laelle
The Les Amoureux collection, meaning “The Lovers”, is a first for the designer. While typically specializing in made-to-order gowns, the collection boasts more than a dozen ready-made samples available to order in a standard size, allowing more brides to enjoy the couture-quality pieces.
The bright white Laelle wedding dress is one of the more clean, modern choices in the collection. The regal-inspired ball gown is crafted from lustrous silk satin with large off-the-shoulder sleeves that wrap around the bride.
The full skirt is oh-so grand and pairs elegantly with the cathedral-length train. It’s the perfect princess moment for the sophisticated bride that’s looking for something unembellished.
Lailey
For something ultra-romantic, the vintage-inspired Lailey wedding gown is a top contender.
The intricate all-over ivory lace is an absolute dream and a complete work of art. The strapless fit-and-flare gown boasts a sweetheart neckline and two detachable options, including fitted, semi-sheer long sleeves with a small flare at the wrist. For extra dimension, add the short puff sleeves as well.
The sexy-glam design also features an alluring center slit in the floor-length skirt with a gentle sweeping train. We think this wedding dress would be perfect at a grand, historic estate overseas.
Lily
Another figure-hugging option is the Lily wedding dress, featuring a sensual mermaid silhouette.
The antique champagne color is a unique choice and perfect for a show-stopping bride-to-be. A high illusion neckline matches the illusion long sleeves and both are adorned with a branch-motif beading. A sparkly thick belt accentuates the bride’s waist.
The ruffled mermaid skirt is really the highlight of the gown, in our opinion. The large open back and cathedral-length train are dramatic finishing touches. To complete the look, the designer added a sheer tulle veil covered in mini crystals and a ruffle trim that matches the voluminous skirt.
Luca
Boasting old Hollywood glamor is the Luca wedding dress—a favorite from the designer.
The top of the dramatic ball gown gown leads with thick straps and a plunging v-neckline. For a somewhat subtle accent, we love the beautiful draping at the waistline above the eye-catching thigh-high slit in the voluminous silk satin skirt.
The clean, modern design is both timeless and romantic. While the entire gown is completely unembellished, the sheer long-sleeve gloves give the gown an elevated look.
Lucia
Experimental brides will love the boho-inspired Lucia wedding gown. The gold hue alone is a statement-making choice, but the design only gets better from there.
The fit-and-flare silhouette hugs the bride’s curves in all the right places while the intricate glittery beading gives the bride some show-stopping sparkle. Ultra-unique touches include the high neckline paired with cap sleeves and sexy side cutouts that lead to the daring bare open back. A simple court train allows the bride to move with ease throughout the day.
We love this adventurous look for a destination wedding in a picturesque location like Zion National Park.
Look 3
If you’re a trendy bride that loves a dramatic wedding gown then you’re in for a treat. The Beaute Innocente collection is a celebration of the past and future through alluring silhouettes, skin-barring fabrics and unexpected textures—which we totally love.
Stepping into the Jazz era is this sexy, Art Deco-inspired sheath gown. The modern gown is covered in head-to-toe glitter beading that’s hand-stitched on sheer tulle fabric.
A daring, plunging v-neckline drops all the way down to a sparkly belt that features a puffy, oversized beaded satin bow—also featured at the top of one of the spaghetti straps. V-shaped cutouts on both sides of the bodice are sensual accents, along with the show-stopping sheer tulle skirt and cathedral-length train.
Look 5
This next look is a stunning design fit for the red carpet, but when you add the matching veil it’s a total bridal moment.
The A-line silhouette is made up of seafood pastels. The blush-colored lining acts as an elegant backdrop for the all-over glitter-embroidered tulle in a stunning blue hue.
A fitted bodice with a high neckline and oversized 3D floral detail leads the gown and a thin tulle belt accentuates the bride’s waist before flaring into the multi-tiered skirt. A simple court train is a graceful finish. Pair the feminine style with the matching blue floral headpiece that extends into a chapel-length tulle veil.
Look 7
This blush ball gown is one of the biggest wow-factor wedding gowns we’ve ever seen.
The modern top features a halter neckline with a criss-crossed cropped bodice and sparkly beading. The sexy open back is a given but the skirt really adds the drama.
Billowy, ruffled organza cascades down to create the voluminous, princess-like skirt, but not before a small, chic peplum accent. It’s just an extra eye-catching detail that took us by surprise. We don’t think this gown needs a veil, since it’s already so stunning, but the designer added a simple sheer tulle veil for a hint of icing on the wedding cake.
Look 8
The most bridal look of the whole collection is this elegant ball gown.
Crafted from dreamy crepe satin, the design features shiny silver leaf embroidery throughout the silhouette, plus exquisite 3D floral applique. The strapless bodice is heavily beaded, for additional sparkle, and boasts a v-neckline with illusion detail.
The voluminous skirt is absolutely stunning with a cathedral-length train that we’ll dream about for days. If you love a matching accessory, add the veil with the same silver leaf embroidery detail.
Look 14
Our final fave is this breathtaking, ultra-glam gown that’s perfect for both walking the red carpet and walking down the aisle. The A-line gown is featured in a stunning gold/champagne color with all-over glitter beading and sequins that we can’t get enough of.
Thin spaghetti straps hold up the low v-neckline bodice for a super-sexy start, while a large ruffle bow detail on one shoulder is just one of the show-stopping details. From there, elegant, sculptured draping in the skirt leads to a hip-high slit with a sparkly brooch-like accent at the top. The chapel train finishes with a horsehair trim for balance and shape.
Needing even more sparkle? We won’t judge! Add the matching cathedral-length tulle veil full of sequin and crystal embellishments.
