If you’ve never seen a BHLDN wedding gown then you’re missing out. The bridal collection, part of the Anthropologie brand, is short for BEHOLDEN or “to keep” in Dutch. The collection features a mix of whimsical and vintage designs for the bride who values something timeless yet modern.
We’ve fallen in love with so many designs, including some wedding dresses fresh off the Spring 2023 collection. Take a look at some of our favorites below!
Valentina
Airy, feminine and romantic are just a few words to describe the Valentina gown.
The gown, made of lightweight tulle, features lace detailing and a plunging v-neckline that ends at the empire waist. Playful flutter sleeves add a touch of romance while the tiered skirt, complete with a sweeping train, is a gentle finish.
This gown has just a hint of boho feel to it and would be perfect for a beach ceremony. We love the soft updo paired with a bold earring. This bride isn’t wearing a necklace but you could add one to really emphasize the daring neckline.
Nassau
If you’re saying “I do” in fall or winter, we love the Nassau gown. The long-sleeve wedding dress has sultry features including a deep v-neckline and a side slit.
For a feminine touch, scattered floral applique adorns the gown on the bodice, sleeves and cascading down the easygoing skirt.
The designer recommends an ivory veil to complete the look and we couldn’t agree more. We also love the strappy heels to give the bride a little extra height. Long dangling earrings also provide an elongating effect.
Clemence
We love a gown with an all-over embellishment and this gown features that and more. From the new Spring 2023 collection, this beaded overlay wedding gown, named Clemence, is simply exquisite.
The pearl beaded design provides textural interest to an otherwise simple, strapless column gown. The overlay detail starts at the high-collar neckline and gently sweeps all the way down to the chapel-length train. It’s a very elegant gown with an Art Deco twist.
Since the gown is covered in pearl embellishments, it only makes sense to accessorize with pearl jewelry. Simple pearl studs and a pearl bracelet would be classic touches. A pair of strappy open-toe heels would complete the look.
Katarina
Another feminine and romantic choice is the Katarina gown. The gown, inspired by the Victorian era, features raised cotton embroidery on the bodice to create rich dimension.
The soft butterfly sleeves paired with a modern v-neck and matching v-back are beautiful accents. Dainty florals grace the skirt for subtle texture and a chapel train finishes the look.
There are so many venue options that would work for this style. We can picture everything from vineyard nuptials in spring to a summer elopement on a mountaintop. A flower crown is a great option versus a traditional veil and works well with the floral-motif embroidery.
Louisa
Switching gears, we’re going bold with this flirty mini dress. The dress boasts a one-shoulder sleeve with a stunning larger-than-life rosette embellishment.
The rest of the figure-hugging gown has all-over ruching detailing and an asymmetrical hem. It’s totally eye-catching and perfect for the bride who wants to be seen.
Where would we wear this wedding dress? The options are endless. Our mind immediately jumps to a fun elopement in Vegas but could also be a show-stopping reception dress. If this gown is not part of your wedding-day vision then slip this baby on for your bachelorette party! It’s sure to be a huge hit.
Johanna
Trading elaborate for elegance, this next gown is ultra glam. The Johanna wedding gown, also from the Spring 2023 collection, evokes timeless sophistication of the roaring ‘20s.
This satin design boasts a draped neckline and pearl-embellished straps. The top of the paneled skirt gives the bride a sleek fit before leading down to the chapel-length train. A cutout back is a sexy touch.
The gown is definitely made for the red carpet, so finish the ensemble with classy additions like statement earrings, a diamond tennis bracelet and a chic bun updo.
Written in the Stars
This next design is truly magical and ready to sparkle and shine as you walk down the aisle. The gown titled Written in the Stars is a beautiful glitter-tulle ball gown that’s made to make your Barbie princess dreams come true.
The bodice features hand-beaded sequins along with a stunning v-neckline. The back of the gown has a scooped open back and trailing chapel train. For just a hint of sexy, illusion panels on the sides and a flirty thigh-high slit in the layered sheer-tulle skirt.
As a sophisticated finish, a pair of shiny earrings will enhance your bridal glow and a shimmery headband is oh-so chic. This gown is perfect for a ceremony at dusk and a reception under the stars.
Odalis
For a more boho-romantic vibe, the Odalis wedding dress is not only swoon-worthy but has so many eye-catching features.
The fit-and-flare gown is made from intricate graphic lace and starts with a plunging v-neckline. Our favorite part of the gown is the cascading flutter sleeves that transform into a stunning cape detail that frames the open back.
A dramatic fishtail train completes the adventurous look. We love how the vintage-inspired lace blends well with the more modern touches.
This gown would be perfect for a wedding in the desert or the mountains. It’s appropriate for every season but we think late summer or early fall would be the sweet spot.
Samaire
This next gown is totally curve-friendly in more ways than one. The elegant Samaire tulle gown is fitted at the bust and waist and gently fitted through the hips to flatter the bride’s figure. The bust also has built-in support so you don’t have to wear a bra. Bonus: the gown is available in plus size!
In terms of embellishments, the organically-placed lace applique is utterly feminine. You can leave the gown in its true form as a polished strapless silhouette or add the off-the-shoulder straps for an extra-romantic touch.
We love the bride’s soft updo and statement earrings to compliment the princess-like gown. A cathedral-length veil with the same lace applique detail would be a beautiful addition.
Marguerite
The final gown that we’ve recently fallen in love with is the Marguerite gown from the Spring 2023 collection.
This design has everything you can imagine: a vintage-inspired corset bodice, peplum detail at the empire waistline and tiered ruffle flutter sleeves are just a few of the feminine features. The trumpet silhouette brings a sexy touch to the gown and a sweeping train is an elegant end.
To complete the bridal look, a string of pearls and a classic red lip. This gown would be great for a more traditional bride that wants fun details on her wedding dress. We picture an afternoon church ceremony followed by a courtyard garden reception.
