Real Wedding: Sylvia & Adrian

What do I like the most about Sylvia & Adrian’s wedding? Besides the fact that the wedding was totally and completely gorgeous, I like how you can really see their love for each other in these pictures.  They look like an amazingly happy, crazy for each other pair, and that is what a wedding is all about.

Here’s more about the wedding from Sylvia.

Sylvia & Adrian, August 8, 2008, Riviera Maya, Mexico

How you met
Through mutual friends at a get together.

How he proposed
On Christmas Eve 2006, almost 4 years after we began dating, Adrian proposed.  One of my Christmas gifts was a beautiful wooden puzzle.  He knows how much i love to build them, and I could see that this was a custom puzzle that was a picture of us.  After we had opened our gifts we went to build the puzzle.  Piece by piece, a beautiful picture of us began to come to life, until the second to the last piece of the puzzle.  I picked up the piece and it said “You are the final piece to my puzzle…”  I placed the piece in but there was still a piece missing.  Adrian went to go “find” it, came back, gave it to me and watched as I put the last piece in the puzzle.  When I looked down I realized it said “Will you marry me?” and Adrian was beside me on one knee to propose.  I, of course, said yes.

The Ceremony
We got married on a jetty of rocks that was paved out into the ocean, at the very end, so it looked like we were just walking out into the ocean. We had 50 of our closest friends and family join us.

The Reception
Our cocktail hour was setup directly on the beach in a lounge like setting, with a bar and furniture directly set up on the sand. The reception took place under a large palapa like restaurant. It was a 4-course sit down dinner. We had an amazing time with everyone and I wouldn’t have changed anything.

I loved the contrast between my girls bright blue dresses and the red flowers. And I also loved my red shoes.

Advice for other brides
My biggest advice would be to just not stress over the small details. Your wedding goes by so fast, you need to just enjoy it. And all those small details you spend hours stressing over, no one will remember except for you. So just sit back, relax and enjoy it because it will be the best day of your life.
