Real Wedding | Kimberly + Nathan

Everything about today’s featured wedding shimmers! Kimberly + Nathan wanted their summer wedding in Toronto, Ontario to be modern and romantic…and then some.  It’s pretty, glamorous and luminous in the most inviting hues of pink and magenta.   The bride and groom are beaming in their elegant wedding attire and every detail of their ceremony and reception possesses the most romantic glow.  Things to love about Kimberly and Nathan’s special day: incorporating  Jewish and Catholic elements in their nuptials; gorgeous flower arrangements; and “THAT LOOKS AMAZING” hanging crystal centerpieces.  Enjoy!

Kimberly + Nathan | July 9, 2011 | Metropolitan United Church, Hudson Bay Company/Oliver and Bonacini’s Arcadian Court, Toronto, Ontario

The Ceremony
Our ceremony was a mix of Jewish and Catholic cultures. We thought it was really important to incorporate both cultures to make sure both sides of the family were honored! The vows were held under a chuppah, which symbolized the beginning of a new home.  Our readings focused on love, friendship, marriage, and happiness! We had 6 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen, wearing bright magenta dresses, and the groomsmen wearing formal tuxedos with bow ties.  The carillon bells could be heard from blocks away, and greeted the guests upon their arrival at the church.

The Reception
The reception was held at the beautiful and famous Arcadian Court in the Hudson’s Bay Company in downtown Toronto. During the cocktail reception, the guests were served hors d’oevres, and our signature drink, which was called “Kimmy and Ziggy’s Wedding Cake Martini.” The guests were then treated to an Oliver and Bonacini meal that featured creations like cream of broccoli soup with aged cheddar and sun dried tomatoes.
Our first dance was a mix of the Viennese Waltz and Rhumba and choreographed to “Can I Have This Dance.”

For decor, we wanted our reception to incorporate both modern and romantic elements. The centerpieces were made of hanging crystal, and contained LED lighting, which illuminated the tables. Each flower centerpiece was made with cream and light purple flowers. At the head table we decided on crystal decorations with topiary balls of flowers and magenta up lighting. The effect was breathtaking – I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the venue for the first time!!

Why Kimberly Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress
I decided to sell my wedding dress because it’s just so beautiful. This Pnina Tornai dress was purchased from Kleinfeld Bridal in NYC, and isn’t sold anymore. I felt like such a princess wearing it, and it would be a delight to have another bride be able to feel like I did on her wedding day!
