Real Wedding | Joanna + Charles

Just looking at Joanna’s beautiful wedding photos makes me feel like I’m on a tropical beach holiday. Her gorgeous Mexican Riviera location was the perfect destination for an intimate wedding and reception. Don’t miss the gorgeous (and unique) flowers and the charming open air reception under a thatched-roof “pallapa.” A fantastic fireworks show capped off the evening, and created once-in-a-lifetime memories for the bride, groom and their lucky guests!

The ceremony

We had a full Catholic Mass at Misión de San José del Cabo Anuiti. The Mission was built in 1734. The Mission of San Jose del Cabo Anuití is not only an important historic location in San Jose Del Cabo, but also a place where the Community celebrates its Faith. When we chose the location it was magical… Birds actually flew from the bell tower through the church and out the two large vintage wooden doors. The perfect last touch to our ceremony was a 3-piece string group to provide the music.

The reception

We had around 60 guests in attendance. We transported our guests to Sunset da Mona Lisa restaurant in Cabo San Lucas. Sunset Da Mona Lisa is the only location in Cabo that has a full view of the famous lovers arch. We rented the entire place. Our guests could enjoy cocktails and mariachis on these beautiful pooled terraces that run along the cliffs next to the ocean. The dinner and reception were under an open air pallapa, and dancing was under the stars. Our first dance was a shock to everyone. I was forced to do a dress change because it was a full “Dancing with the Stars” kind of thing… splits, lifts and all! The perfect end to our whole event was a surprise to us! My mother arranged an insane fireworks show that began right when we cut our cake. It was so incredible, want to do it all again!

Why Joanna decided to sell her wedding dress

I can’t box up and put away something so beautiful. I think it would be horrid to know it is just sitting somewhere.
