Janice + Gabriel | August 12, 2011 | Pasadena & Los Angeles, California

The ceremony

The ceremony took place at St. Andrew Church in the heart of old Pasadena. The church is an architectural masterpiece built in 1927 with a Romanesque church tower and facade replicated from Santa Maria in Cosmedin, a church in Rome. The interior of the church is a replica of the Basilica of Santa Sabina dating to the early days of Christianity in Rome. With marble pillars and an altar structured of white Carrara marble,  St. Andrew Church is recognized as an extraordinary replica of Romanesque architecture. With her twin sister as her maid of honor, Janice was a beautiful and majestic bride.

The reception

The reception took place at Cicada Restaurant in downtown Los Angeles alongside 220 guests. Located within a 1920’s Art Deco historic building, this venue created an extraordinary atmosphere for Janice and Gabriel’s wedding. They danced to La Vie en Rose for the first time as man and wife, and guests were treated to Traditional Bolivian Dancing as homage to the bride’s native heritage. Opera singer Lucy Zepeda sang the brides favorite aria,  Il dolce suono” (“The Sweet Sound”) from Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti. The night ended with a dazzling bouquet toss and farewell dance.
