Real Wedding | Emily + Gabriel

Romance, roses, ribbons, ruins, and relaxation too…Emily + Gabriel chose a destination wedding in Cocoyoc, Mexico so their guests from all over the world could spend time relaxing together and focus on a feeling of community and celebration. And all in such exquisite style and taste I might add.  I am in love with the peaceful and romantic setting of the 16th Century Hacienda Cocoyoc…and the decor as well as the wedding party’s wardrobe choices are really enchanting. Just breathtaking, enjoy!

The Ceremony + Reception
Our ceremony and reception were held at Hotel Hacienda Cocoyoc, just an hour south of Mexico City. The grounds of the 16th Century Hacienda Cocoyoc contain acres of lush gardens, beautiful ruins, and a peaceful setting for our romantic wedding. We chose a destination wedding because we wanted a place where our guests from all over the world could spend time relaxing together and create a feeling of community among the people who were joining together to celebrate our union. Guests arrived at the hotel a few days before the wedding to enjoy the tropical weather and tranquil atmosphere by the pools or playing golf, indulging in decadent spa treatments, and then came together for meals and evening parties.

A theme of fresh flowers and roses filled both our ceremony and our reception, with the most beautiful bouquets, garlands, topiaries, centerpieces and fountains. Emily and her two sisters carried bouquets of mixed roses, and the men wore boutonnieres of a single rose. We were married in garden near the former monastery just before sunset before 90 guests, and we walked back down the aisle as husband and wife to a shower of rose petals.

A brief cocktail hour followed in the adjoining garden.  Guests were serenaded by a mariachi band and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, tamarind margaritas and chilled wines. The ceremony followed in the old sugar cane mill, complete with a live band, dinner, toasts, dancing and celebrations and revelry into the wee hours of the morning.

Emily’s Dress Search
This was actually the first dress that I tried on, and I loved it right away. Everything was just as I had always dreamed of: the beautiful lace, the shape, the train. Also, I felt very comfortable because the dress wasn’t strapless and  had just the right touches of romance.

The dress is so lovely. I would love for another bride to experience the joyous feeling that I felt wearing this dress and to help another girl’s dreams come true. The dress is cleaned and waiting for you!
