Real Wedding | Corina + Amos

The gorgeous and peaceful Colorado mountains were the perfect location for the joyous wedding of Corina and Amos. Natural accents and a fun mix of formal and funky (check out the sporty sneakers the groomsmen donned!) created a relaxed, but elegant atmosphere. Smiles radiated from the faces of the wedding party and guests as they partied the night away. Congratulations to this charming couple!

Corina + Amos | September 10, 2010 | Redstone, Colorado

The engagement

I gave Amos frequent flier miles for his 26th birthday and told him that he could choose anywhere in the world for us to go and have an adventure together. I was thrilled when he decided on New Zealand. One of our stops on the South Island was Gillespie’s Beach. When we arrived, I felt invigorated and inspired by the air and ancient beauty. Amos did too, and after dinner he asked me if I wanted to take a walk down the beach.

After we had walked for a while on the beach, he held out a beautiful jade ring. He could not have proposed in a more beautiful way. That place was as timeless as the moment and as sacred as the green stone that he placed on my finger.

The ceremony

We knew that Colorado would be the location for our wedding, partly because it is where we met, but also because it served as a reasonable middle ground for our families coming from Maine and California. Redstone is a small, quiet village, tucked into a beautiful canyon with red sandstone cliffs towering above. The river that runs through it is gold medal fly-fishing water, and there is endless hiking and exploring nearby. Our ceremony was everything to us. It was as heartfelt, creative and magical as we ourselves felt that day.

The reception

Our reception occurred in two different locations: inside the historic Redstone Inn for dinner and outside under the canopy for dessert, toasts and dancing. My sister did the flower arrangements and some friends decorated the canopy with aspen branches that made a lovely sound when the wind blew. We made CD’s as our thank you gift for everyone, which were also used as place cards. We could not have been happier with the reception, and all our friends and family are still talking about it what an amazing party it was.

How Corina knew her wedding dress was “The One”

It was the most gorgeous dress that I saw while looking…it showed off my figure while also being elegant and classy with a vintage look. It simply felt timeless!

Why Corina decided to sell her dress

It is too beautiful to only be worn once. I could keep it in hopes that a daughter might wear it, but everyone is very different and I just want someone else to choose this dress like I did…as the absolute perfect dress for their wedding.
