Kenda + Nate | Vera Wang Wedding from Person + Killian Photography

Vera Wang said it best, this gown “Will appeal to romantic brides with a taste for artistic, impressionistic flourishes”…And with Kenda’s eye for fashion, Vera Wang’s Flora gown in nude and blush colors was the perfect muse.  I absolutely adore this gown! Feminine, light as air in the most romantic layering of tulle and tissue organza.  What more could a gal want? I know, saying I Do to a charming and relaxed chap like Nate, in an open air large gazebo, overlooking the Boston harbor. Perfect!

Kenda + Nate | September 8, 2012 | Boston, Massachusetts

The Ceremony
The Ceremony was held in Foster’s Pavilion, which is an open air, large gazebo, overlooking the Boston harbor.  One of my bridesmaids fathers who is a judge in Washington D.C. officiated the ceremony which made it special for us.

The Reception
The reception was in the Atlantic Room of the Boston Harbor Hotel, which had floor to ceiling windows overlooking the wharf and the harbor.  Our colors were white and tangerine, so we had peach roses in our tall arrangements, and tangerine touches to the menus and wedding favors, and even white and tangerine flip-flops.  We tried to incorporate local Boston touches where possible; we had lobster cake toppers, and gave out Taza chocolates as favors, which is a local Boston chocolate company.  There was a live band, and my sister got up and sang our first dance song!

Kenda’s Dress Search
I didn’t really have a specific style in mind, but I am very in to fashion and wanted something that would be unique and very me.  I went to a bunch of different bridal salons in New York with my mom and sister, and tried out a bunch of different styles.  In the end I chose the specific dress rather than a specific style.  This dress was so romantic, and glamorous, and the color made it so unique, that I knew it was the right choice for me.

Romantic, Elegant, Glamorous

Why Kenda Decided To Sell Her Wedding Dress
It was a hard decision, and there is definite emotional attachment to it!  Ultimately though it came down to what I would do with it if I kept it.  I don’t have any illusions about my daughter wanting to wear it some day, and I think I’d prefer if I had a daughter that she pick her own dress based on her unique style.  The thought of it being shut up in a box and never worn again was sad, it was such a beautiful dress, I want another bride to enjoy it and make it her own.
